This was found in Stuttgart, Germany as part of the German street art culture.
It translates to:
With both feet on the ground and the head in the stars.
I think that’s really nice :)

The German that the terrorists speak is sometimes grammatically incorrect and meaningless. In the German version of the film, the terrorists are not from Germany but from “Europe.” The only instances of incorrect use of German are Alan Rickman’s (Hans Gruber) lines.

Merry Christmas, from this German nerd!
Thanks to DearS for reminding me of this classic Christmas film.

“Ohne Kaffee, ohne mich” (without coffee, without me)  -> that kinda applies to the way I usually am in the morning. :)
Here’s some useful coffee vocabulary:
1. die Kaffeemaschine = coffee maker
2. der Kaffeefilter = coffee filter
3. die Kaffeebohne = coffee bean
4. starker / schwacher Kaffee = strong coffee
5. entkoffeinierter Kaffee = decaf coffee
6. Kaffee mit / ohne Milch und Zucker = coffee with / without milk and sugar
7. schwarzer Kaffee = black coffee
How about you - do you like coffee?

Homework is done!

I’m happy that I’ve just written a paper about Tristan and Isolde, of which I would be reasonably proud, even if it were in English. I think I might just be getting the hang of this German thing.

If you’re a glutton for punishment, or a German language nerd (and if you are, please don’t be too harsh on me, I’m still learning!), you can read it below the fold:
